"WHO DARES - WINS"
Robin's "Who Dares - Wins" anti-tobacco and alcohol abuse presentation reinforces a "stay clean" message against the backdrop of his three solo Around the World sailboat races.
"WHO DARES - WINS" is the operating motto of the Special Air Services, the crack British special forces that are the British equivalent of the U.S. Navy Seals. The "Who Dares - Wins" slogan applies equally well to students. Often, tobacco and alcohol abuse results from peer pressure being exerted on students who normally just wouldn't be exposed or tempted by these substances. Saying NO: that is the DARE. And whoever Dares to say NO - Wins.
Robin adapts his regular schools presentation - "As Good As It Gets" ? with its great slides, video and stories as an entertaining tale of adventure around which to weave his key messages and personal experiences and observations on substance abuse.
He doesn't pretend to be an expert in tobacco and alcohol abuse, but does bring to the table his own experience with tobacco usage, his observation of alcohol abuse over his many years at sea, and his personal observations on substance abuse.
His messages include reasons why students just shouldn't do and don't need to engage in any form of substance abuse to lead fulfilling ? and fun ? lives.
His key messages are that all forms of substance abuse have the potential to KILL and that students all have the power, will, and personal decision making responsibility to say NO.
Who dares say NO...
--- WINS ---
