MIDDLE SCHOOLS

For middle school students, Robin's presentation is designed to bring a sense of direction to an age group that seeks acceptance from everyone around them, from their peers and friends to the authority figures of parents and teachers.

The middle school years are a tough, demanding, and confusing period of children's lives as they are pulled in various directions by peer pressures on the one hand and by authority pressures on the other.

The decision-making process is now part of their lives, and sensible decisions and wise choices are responsibilities they will increasingly assume as adulthood approaches.

Robin's presentation helps them see through the "noise" and make the kind of choices that will set them on a positive course towards achieving their dreams and goals. It highlights their role in responsible decision making and how exercising their right to make good, independent decisions will earn them the trust and respect they seek.

For middle school audiences, Robin brings a choice of two presentations:

"As Good As It Gets":

Robin's sense of adventure, perseverance, determination, and "can do" attitude shine through in this message-rich program of spectacular pictures and stories from his life at sea.

"Who Dares - Wins":

An anti-tobacco and alcohol abuse reinforcement presentation, based on Robin's direct experience and observations from 20 years at sea, is set against the backdrop of his three solo Around the World sailboat races.

Robin frequently presents to entire schools at one large assembly, and will continue to do so. It is clear, however, that this age group exhibits an increased attention span when two or more assemblies are arranged for smaller groups of students.
